What is the LEarn to play program
Learn to Play Hockey lessons provide children the opportunity to learn the basics of skating and hockey from USA Hockey-trained coaches in a fun-to-learn, relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere. Skating experience is REQUIRED. Must be able to skate and have the skill level to practice with Elementary level players. Must be cleared by organization to take part
Each class includes 60 minutes of skating and stick instruction. Upon completion of the classes, players are ready to join the Elementary School program and enjoy playing with children of similar age and ability.

Lessons require the appropriate equipment. This includes skates, shin guards, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, gloves, helmet, and stick. All skaters will receive an Boyertown Hockey Learn to Play Hockey jersey for the first session in which they enroll. Our Bear Swap program is available for any player that needs to borrow equipment. A full list of what is available can be found here... BEAR SWAP USA Hockey Membership You must have a 2018-2019 USA Hockey Membership in order to register for the Learn to Play Hockey program. Go to www.usahockey.com and click on 'online registration'. Once you have completed the registration process you will be e-mailed a confirmation page with a 14 digit confirmation number. We need this number to enroll you in the Learn to Play Hockey program. |
When are the lessons
The Learn to Play lessons are held during Elementary Practices on Sunday nights, 6-7pm at Center Ice in Oaks. There will be approximately 15 sessions held November through February. The final schedule is released once ice times are confirmed with the rink at the end of the summer.
